Production FAQs

If you have a question that’s not answered here, feel free to send an email to info@clipmedia.com.au and we’ll do our best to help!

Because videos vary so much in complexity, so does the time it takes to produce them. A polished television commercial or a video with sophisticated graphics will have a longer production schedule than an internal corporate video.

However, at Clip Media, we generally work to the below timeframe and always meet the deadlines provided by our clients. This means you could have a high-quality video within 1-2 weeks after filming! Get in touch – we’d love to discuss your next project with you.

It’s hard to give an estimate of production costs without knowing the details of your project, but our prices are always reasonable. We produce everything in-house, which helps keep our costs down. Get a quick quote now!

At Clip Media, we tailor the quote to your specific needs and budget. For instance, if you want a simple corporate video of someone talking straight to camera, the production equipment and time needed will be relatively minimal, which will be reflected in the cost. If you’re looking for a cinematic production (to be filmed over multiple days and locations) or complex animations, then the cost might be slightly higher – but the quality will be too!

We like to give you choices, to help you produce a video that’s within your budget, so we tend to work off the following structure.

Base rate includes:

  • Filming hours (one camera operator)
  • Editing hours

Add-ons:

  • Additional camera operator (for different angles and more complex shoots)
  • Animation (2D or 3D)
  • Scriptwriting
  • Voiceover recording
  • Music licence

Ok, so you’ve decided to produce a video… now what?

At Clip Media, we follow a simple production process to make life easy for you.
If you have any questions about the process, just pick up the phone or drop us an email – we’re happy to help.

1

Client briefing

This doesn’t have to be anything complex, but it’s helpful for us to understand what you’re looking for – so the more details the better!
We have a briefing document that we can send over or, if you prefer, you can use your company’s briefing document.

2

Pre-production & planning

Once we understand what kind of video or photography you want, we’ll brainstorm some ideas and discuss the production options with you.

We’ll come to an agreement on what the final output should look like, then we’ll go away and produce a storyboard/script (if required) and plan the production timeline.

Depending on the nature of your project, this could involve filming, photography or animation work.

Post-production

This is where the footage or photos are edited. Graphics, voiceover and music are added, if required.

Review & editing stage

We generally go through two rounds of feedback.

  1. We’ll send you the first edit, you can let us know of any amends that you’d like made
  2. We’ll send you a second edit and you can let us know of any final adjustments needed

Ta-da, your video!

When we first started Clip Media, over 10 years ago, the production scene in Perth was relatively small. The industry has grown rapidly over the last few years and we’re excited to see more companies creating visual content. However, now that there are more production agencies in Perth, it does make deciding who to work with slightly harder!

Here are few things to consider:

Experience

You want to choose a production company that’s worked on projects like yours before. At Clip Media, we have a vast range of experience for a huge array of clients. The proof is in our portfolio.

  • We’ve produced hundreds of corporate videos, TVCs, social media promotions, animated videos and high-quality photography.
  • We’re also experts in event imagery, having produced many highlights clips and live streamed footage.
  • Lastly, we are highly experienced in branded storytelling – we’ve produced many videos that form part of our clients’ content marketing strategies, such as community stories.
Skills

What kind of skills should you look for in a production company? Our multidisciplinary team includes expert videographers, video-editors, animators, scriptwriters, producers/directors and marketers. When you work with us, you work with a full-service team that can manage the entire production process in-house, from start to finish. Find out more about us.

Equipment

This is a big one. Using high-end equipment is imperative to achieving quality visual content. At Clip Media, we never compromise on equipment. We have a suite of best-in-class production cameras, UAV drones, 360 cameras, time-lapse equipment, gimbals, audio recording equipment and lighting. This ensures that our imagery is always high-quality.

We have also held a CASA UAV Operators Certificate since 2014, undertaking outdoor and indoor aerial filming and still photography projects across Australia as well as China, Singapore and New Zealand.

Professionalism

As our past and current clients will testify, when you work with Clip Media you can always expect a professional service. We work to our clients’ deadlines and pride ourselves on timeliness and good communication.

Through regularly working on operational mining and construction sites, we have also gained a strong understanding of the safety and health requirements for visiting contractors. At all times, we adhere to the requirements and directions applied by clients in addition to Clip Media’s existing safety policies.

In a word, yes! When you work with Clip Media, you own the rights to distribute your final video indefinitely.
